You know, these things are freaking brilliant sometimes. O.o
This does a fair job of summing up the worst of the problems with the famous John 3:16. I’m sure I could think of a couple of more if I put my mind to it. Somewhere in the mind of a Christian, these words hold a special power. I have NEVER been able to see beyond the elementary logical flaws.
An execution device is one thing. They probably had lots of ways of swiftly executing people back then. The crucifix if a torture device, designed to make people suffer for days before finally dying of exposure, dehydration, starvation, trauma, or other crucifix related complications.
The crucifix creeps me out. Constant images of a man being tortured to death on one creep me out more. I’m not kidding. That people wear the image of someone dying of torture around their necks…well, let me just say that I find that rather fucked up. ~ Steve
